Tavistock Plant Fair Spring 2017

Tavistock Plant Fair Spring 2017

The Plant Heritage Tavistock Spring Plant Fair on March 19th was buzzing with people looking for lovely plants to buy.

Well over 900 people came through the doors of the Pannier Market for the event. The stalls were bright with spring flowers that were very tempting. Certainly a lot of people left the hall well-laden with bags full of plants. A plant raffle was run with numbers being drawn each hour. There was one particularly happy winner who said she was 84 and never wins anything! It had made her day! She kissed Tim Ellis the plant fair organiser, and then the Devon Group Secretary who had drawn her winning ticket. She was later seen in the cafe still telling people how her win had made her day.

The next plant fairs will be at South Molton Pannier Market on April 9th, and then the following weekend at Burrow Farm Gardens, near Axminster on April 16th. Time to stock up on new treasures for your garden!

    Dear Caroline

I have just looked at your report on last spring's Tavistock plant fair and noticed that the dates given for this year's events are both on a Monday.
